Basella Alba, the basement or spinach of Malabar, is a species of Plants Dicotyledons of Family of Basellaceae, probably fromAsia from the South. These are climbing herbaceous plants , short life, with small flowers grouped in axillary ears. The fleshy leaves are edible and constitute a substitute for spinach. The species is widely cultivated in tropical regions.
