Thym False Pouliot (Thymus pulegioides) or Thym with large leaves, also called Bergère thyme is a sub-armrisseau Family of Lamiacae belonging to the genre Thymus, originally from Europe.
20 seeds
It is a low aromatic plant, about 5 to 30 cm high ; It is lining, with small leafy leaves at the base, opposite, oval or rounded, with elongated branches, clearly quadrangular florifers with longer hairs on the angles, with inflorescences lengthening in ears.
It is a plant in sunny areas, brush, dry meadows, rocks, up to 2 000 m altitude.
- Bactericide, stomachic, healing
Plant rich in derivatives of Thymol, it is used in cooking like other species of the genus Thymus. It also has many properties : Bactericide, Stomachique, healing
The anti-radical and antibacterial properties of Thymus Pulegioides L. pushing in the wild was studied in this study3.
It has been found that extracts from phenolic chemotypes containing remarkable concentrations of thymol and / or carvacrol were more powerful free radical trays and ABTS in model systems.
The antibacterial activity of extracts depended on the vegetable chemotype, the preparation of the extract, the solvent used and finally on the sensitivity of bacteria. BACILLUS CEREUS, Micrococcus luteus, Staphylococcus epidermidis and Staphylococcus Aureus were most sensitive to all applied extracts, whileEscherichia coli, Salmonella Typhimurium and Enterobacter Aerogenes remained resistant.3
- Antioxidant, anti-proliferative, neuroprotective, anti-aging and anti-diabetic activities
The potential of Thymus pulegioides L. As a source of phenolic constituents and antioxidant, anti-proliferative, neuroprotective, anti-aging and anti-diabetic activities of the aqueous decoctions of Thymus pulegioides L(AD) and hydro-ethanolic extracts (HE) have been studied and compared for the first time in this study4.
Rosmarine acid was the main phenolic compound. In addition, large quantities of luteoline-o-hexuronide, erodictyol-o-hexuronide and hexoside of chrysoeriol were found. The two extracts have shown significant antioxidant and antiproliferative activity in vitro against Caco-2 cells and reduced hepatotoxicity.
In general, the two extracts from Thymus pulegioides L showed low antidiabetic activity, moderate anti-aging effects and high neuroprotective activity, showing an inhibition of 80% of acetylcholinesterase and 94% 'Inhibition of tyrosinase activity.
This highlights the important potential of this plant.4
