Chimonanthus praecox is a species of flower plant originating from China. This plant is called 蜡梅 / 蠟梅, , Cantonese Jyutping : Laap⁶ Mui⁴ in Chinese and Chinese and Chinese and Chinese and Chinese and Chinese and Chinese Rōbai (蜡梅) in Japanese.
The Latin name derives from Greek Cheimôn Winter and Anthos Flowers, according to the flowering season1.
