Arctis Fastuosa , called Monarch-of-The-Veld, is a kind of African plants of the family of Asteraceae , originally from Namibia and from South Africa . He naturalized on the banks of the roads and in the vacant urban land of the South of California .

Arctis Fastuosa is cultivated as Orneal plant for its light flowers. It is an annual herb reaching approximately 35 centimeters in height, but known to sometimes approach 90 centimeters (36 inches). He has a hairy texture, long and webbed hairs when the plant is young. The sheets form rosettes basals and are arranged alternating along the rod. They can measure several centimeters long, all except the highests are divided into several lobes. They are carried by Petioles dishes with large bases. Inflorescence is a capitula solitary which can be large and seeing, measuring up to 10 centimeters wide.
Cultivars are high for various flowers of flowers; The flagships of the rays can be orange or white with purple, yellow or orange bases, and the florets of the disc in the center can be brown, purple or black.
