Romneya Coulteri, the Matilija Pelter or Pavot Papavot poppy, is a perennial species of flowering plants from the Papaveraceae Pavot family. Originally from southern California, in the United States, and farifornia, Mexico, it grows in dry canyons, in chaparral and coastal vegetable communities, sometimes in recently burned areas. It is a popular ornamental plant, preserved for its large light flowers.

This VIVACE Herbaceous can exceed 2 m (7 ft) in height, its rod pushing from a network of Rhizomes . The gray-green leaves with a waxy texture are each divided into a few lance-shaped lobes, the blades reaching 20 centimeters (7.8 in) long. The Inflorescence is a large lonely flower with six white petals plastered each up to 10 cm (4 in) long. At the center of the flower is a group of many yolk stamens. The fruit is a capsule bristled with 3 to 4 cm (1 to 2 in) long, containing many tiny seeds.
This plant often grows aggressively once planted. It is propagated in a clonal way by Rhizomes underground and may appear several meters from the original plant..
