Rosier Rugueux, or Rosier du Japan (Rosa Rugosa Thunb., 1784), in Japanese Hamanasu (ハマナス, 浜茄子, or 浜梨^?, literally " Aubergine de Rivage " or " Pear de Rivage »), is a species of Rosiers classified in Section of Cinnamomeae, originally fromExtreme-East (North-East of China, Japan, Korea and South-East of Siberia), where it grows On the Côtes, often in the Dunes.

This Botanical rose is a shrub Drageonant which emits new stems from the strain and forms dense thickets from 1 to 1.5 meter high.

The stems are densely covered with numerous straight and short spikes (3 to 10 mm long). The Leaves, from 8 to 15 CM Long, are impariated composed of 5 to 9 leaflets (most often seven), each leaflet A 3 to 4 CM Long and clearly wavy and rough faces, hence the name of the species.

In Japan and in China, where it has been cultivated for a thousand years, it is used by suavely fragrant flowers to make Pots-Pourris.
