Clarkia Amoena ( Goodbye in spring or Godetia ; Syn. Godetia Amoena ) is a flower plant Origin from west of North America , found in the hills and coastal mountains of British Columbia until the Bay of San Francisco .

It is an annual plantreaching 1 m high, with slim and linear leaves 2 to 7 cm long and 2 to 6 mm wide. The flowers are pink with pale purple, with four large petals 1.5 to 6 cm long. The Fruit is a Capsule dry which opens up to release the many Seeds .
Three subspecies are currently recognized, although intermediate forms are commonly found :
- Clarkia Amoena Subp. Pleasant
- Clarkia Amoena Subp. Hunting
- Clarkia Amoena Subp. Whitneyi (The farewell of Whitney in the spring)
Farewell to spring is commonly cultivated as Garden plant , and cultivated varieties are known.
