Madia Elegans is an annual herbaceous plant from the Asteraceae family. It is generally known as the common Madia, but there are several subspecies known under various common names.

The plant Madia Elegans is from the West of North America , from the South Center of Washington (State) to the North of Basse-california. It can be found in the dry open forest, disturbed areas and low altitude bass meadows.
