Rhododendron Schlippenbachi , the Royal Azalea , is a kind of Rhododendron Originally from Korean Peninsula and adjacent regions of Manchuria ( Liaoning , Nei Mongol ), of Japan and the Russian extreme-East . It is the dominant shrub of the sub-settlement in many forests on Korean hillside, pushing at an altitude of 400 to 1,500 m (1,300 to 4,900 feet).
It is a Shrub with dense deciduous leaves reaching 4.5 m (15 ft) in height, but more commonly 1–2 m (3.3–6.6 pi) high. The Leaves are obovals, 4.5 cm (1.8 in) long and 2.5–4.5 cm (0.98–1.77 in) wide, with scattered glandular hairs. The flowers are white with roses, often with small red spots on the three upper petals; They are produced from the end of spring to early summer.The scientific name Schlippenbachi is derived from Baron von Schlippenbach , a Russian officer who collected the species in 1854.
