Persicaria orientalis is a species of flower plant of the family of the polygonaceae , [1] known as the Kiss-Me -Over-the-Garden-Gate and Princess-Feather .

It was first described, as Eastern Polygonum , by Carl Linnaeus in 1753. It was transferred to the genre Persicaria by Édouard Spach in 1841. [3] Its native distribution is not clear. [4] Since May 2019, Plants of the World Online lists only Uzbekistan , [1]while other sources give a much broader distribution in Asia Temperate and tropical and in Australia. It is widely cultivated and naturalized.
