Allium mongolicum is an Asian species of wild onion from Mongolia, inner Mongolia, Tuva, Kazakhstan and certain parts of China (Gansu, Liaoning, Ningxia, Qinghai, Shaanxi, Xinjiang).

Allium mongolicum produces tufts of thin bulbs. Hampes measure up to 30 cm high, sometimes more than one on the same plant. The leaves are hollow, tubular, shorter than the shaft. The umbels are densely populated by many red or violat-red flowers.
