It is a rapid growth tree which can reach a height of 10 at 12 M at maturity. Its Port is widely spread out, its brunette bark with pale brown cracks over time.

The flowers, with four yellow petals, appreciated by bees, are formed at the end of the branches in conical panicles of 20 to 40 CM long, hence its name in English : Goldenrain Tree, " Golden rain tree ".
