Allium Hookeri is a plant species from India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar (Burma), Bhutan and South West China (Sichuan, Tibet and Yunnan). The common names include Hooker chives and garlic chives. The plant is widely cultivated outside its original distribution area and is appreciated as food in a large part of South and Southeast Asia. Allium Hookeri produces thick and fleshy roots and a cluster of thin bulbs. Hampes measure up to 60 cm high. The leaves are flat and narrow, about the same length as the hampens but only 1 cm in diameter. The umbels are filled with many white or greenish yellow flowers.
