The Pepper Mint (Mentha × Piperita), also known by its English name Peppermint, is a herbaceous plant of the family of Lamiaceae. It is a mint from spontaneous hybridization, hexaploid, between aquatic mint and green mint (Mentha aquatica and Mentha spicata), cultivated in England From XVII^e century.

More strongly concentrated in menthol than other varieties, it allows to use less plant with equal concentration. It is therefore widely used in cooking but it is also used as medicinal use. It is used in different forms to flavor candy, ice cream, toothpaste, salads, chewing gums, confectionery and alcoholic drinks. She has given birth to many cultivars including chocolate mint, lemon mint or bergamot mint.
