The Domestic Pommier or Common Pommier (Malus domestica), is a species d 'fruit trees of the Family of Rosaceae, widely cultivated for its Fruits, Apples. The domestic apple tree is a tree Hermaphrodite with deciduous leaves. According to varieties, it measures 2 to 15 meters and can be subject to Size or high in Vent. It flowers in May (pink flowers) and gives acid fruits (cider apples) or sweet (Knife or table apples).

He can live more than 100 years but trees cultivated in Verger on Dwarf Dwarf (type M9) rootstocks are generally replaced every 15 years because their Fertility begins to drop. The trees of high stem can well produce until the age of 30 years.

The apple is partly true for the core including Pépins, reproductive organs, and Faux-Fruit for the flesh which derives from the floral receptacle.

The apple leaves are simple, with a toothed limmbe and available alternate.

Each flower button gives a Inflorescence of five Hermaphrodite flowers with radial symmetry each with five white petals, one Calice composed of five sepales, around 20 Stamens and a Pistil dividing into five styles. The ovary has four Carpelles containing two ova, which generally gives 10 seeds but some cultivars have more. Liberty and Northern Spy, for example, produce between 12 and 18 Pepins and the rootstock Ottawa 3 often gives between 20 and 30 Pépins. Pommier cultivars have heterogeneous trends inAlternation whose origin is related to the flows of carbohydrates and phytohormones9.

Thebark of the apple and the apple seeds contain a heteroside , the Cyanure, which is toxic to high doses but completely harmless for humans in case ingestion of a few seeds.
